Today we got up and grabbed coffee at the shop next to the hotel before heading over to Wat Pho (a Buddhist temple that’s around 400 years old) and the Royal Palace, two major attractions near the river in Bangkok. The architecture was crazy in the wat especially, with thousands of tiny colored mirror squares forming a mosaic all over the building. The temple houses the 150-foot long, gilded reclining Buddha too.

After walking around the area, we headed back by a little shop called Noodles by Mom for a spicy bowl of Tom Yum, a delicious hot and sour soup. Them we zipped across town to a mall in a Muslim part of town featured lots of tasty halal restaurants and a cool Thai musical instrument shop in a weird semi-abandoned part of the mall. We were still feeling the jet lag today, so we went back to the hotel for a “quick nap” that ended up lasting the rest of the night.
